Before + After || Mud/Laundry Room

Our house is just over 1,200 square feet so many areas serve dual purposes. For instance, our back entrance is also home to our laundry room AND triples as a hallway to our guest bathroom. Did I mention it holds wardrobes that hold all of our shoes and outerwear? When we moved into our house this space was a horrendous shade of blue. By the time we had painted the rest of the interior we just left this area and said we’d get around to it. BUT… there it sat mocking me in all it’s disorganization and heavy traffic for two years. Cue a couple rainy days, a $200 gift card to Target and a can of glorious white paint I found in leftover our attic.

Version 2

When we first moved in, I did what I could to make this space somewhat functional. I found the matching bench to the existing wardrobes on Craigslist for $40 (score!), I threw up an IKEA shelf to store towels, and a tension rod and curtain attempted to hide our laundry from guests. But after a year of looking at my temporary solution, I felt like I was living in a college dorm. The fact that you can clearly see all of this space from the kitchen didn’t help matters.

My next plan for this space is to design a floating countertop for over the washer and dryer. I can’t wait to show you more of our Texas abode over the next few months!
