Hosting & Toasting ||Holiday Movie Marathon

I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, but we like Christmas. A LOT. So Scrooge, if this bothers you, come back in the new year because it’s all Christmas from here on out. Today, a few tips on hosting the perfect holiday movie marathon. We’ve even included a list of our all time favorite Christmas movies! Don’t get us wrong, we don’t think you’re what the French call “les incompetent”.

Countdown to CHRISTMAS

What to Serve:

When watching movies, popcorn should always be on the menu. Why not pick it up a notch with my personal favorite — Truffle Parmesan Popcorn. Keep the change you filthy animal.

Truffle Parmesan Popcorn:

  • air pop the popcorn
  • 1/4 cup of salted butter (melted)
  • add 1 tsp truffle oil (or more to taste) to the melted butter
  • pour evenly over popcorn
  • shake on 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • ENJOY!

Grown-up Hot Cocoa:

  • heat chocolate cashew milk on the stove
  • add 1 oz. of Bailey’s
  • Drink up!

What to Watch:

|10| The Polar Express.

|9| The Muppets Christmas Carol.

|8| Die Hard.

|7| The Santa Clause. This film is all full of warm fuzzies. [spoiler alert] Like when Neil finally gets his Weenie Whistle and everyone learns to believe in Santa again. Check out what the cast looks like 21 years later.

|6| Miracle on 34th Street.

|5| Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. “5 o’clock, dinner with me… I can’t cancel that again!”

|4| Elf. “Buddy the Elf! What’s your favorite color?” Need we say anymore? “Francisco… That’s fun to say!” On the 12th anniversary of this beloved film, here are ‘12 Elf Secrets That Are Sweeter Than Maple Syrup‘.

|3| The Holiday. “When the Santa Anas blow, all bets are off, anything can happen.” Like you’ll find yourself watching this movie every week, and considering renting a cottage in Cotswald. Fingers crossed your Airbnb host has a brother like Mr. Napkinhead.

|2| Love Actually.

|1| Home Alone & Home Alone 2: Lost in New York – this has to be a tie. We can’t choose a favorite when they play back-to-back as the holiday soundtrack to our lives. Our morning alarms may even be set to the theme song… Just maybe. And seeing as this year marks the film’s 25th anniversary, here are ’25 Things to Know on the 25th Anniversary of Home Alone’!

Happy Hanukkah Marv!
