Summertime essentials! Refresh your bathing suit and your sunglasses!
Amber’s Monday Refresh
I have a confession to make. “Hi, my name is Amber and I am a bathing suit addict.” Ok now that I’ve brought you all up to speed, I can jump right in to the deep end (get it…). Today I’m going to share with you a few tips and tricks to keep those bathing suits looking Refreshed and ready for action.
Rinse, rinse, rinse. Try and rinse your suit before sitting in the sun for long periods of time and IMMEDIATELY after you pack it in for the day. Chlorine, salt water, sunscreen and sweat are a bikini’s worst enemy.
Hand Wash. Washing machines are hard on swim suits so wash those bad boys by hand. As for detergent, a mild (preferably unscented) hand soap will work, however, you can also buy swimsuit specific cleaners such as this Speedo Swimsuit Cleaner.
Lay flat to dry. Hanging them is hard on them. Period. Lay your suit flat on a towel to dry completely. Make sure you adjust all the cups and inserts before they’re dry so they dry smooth and don’t give you the “wrinkled nipple” look.
Store properly. Don’t just shove all of your bathing suits into a drawer and force it closed. This will wrinkle the cups and padding and just generally shorten the lifespan of your swimwear.
Here are a couple extra bathing suit tips to keep you and your favorite suit(s) looking their best this summer!
- Wet/Dry Bag – This is will be your new BFF for pool days and travel. This handy bag will keep everything else in your luggage dry once you’re done swimming, just make sure you don’t forget it in there!
- Stain Removal – If you notice sunscreen or tanning oil stains on your swimsuit, try using vinegar or baking soda to remove them. If this doesn’t work, consider contacting the manufacturer.
Falynn’s Monday Refresh
Perfect mate for your perfect bathing suit, is a perfect pair of sunglasses to look your best on the beach or out and about on the town! Personally, I have insanely sensitive eyes to the sun, so I rarely leave my house without a pair of sunglasses. And not all sunglasses have to cost you an arm and a leg; just as long as you look chic and have the protection your eyes need.
My sunglasses collection is pretty extensive, by my go-to nearly 99% of the time is my polarized Ray-Ban aviators; classic, light, and always in style. Here are some other options to consider…
FlyJane Coggles Markus Lupfer Dior – Bloomingdale W-PL Mod – Burlington Coat Factory
Similar – Nordstrom Ksubi – ifChic Ray-Ban – My Theresa Tory Burch – Hudson Bay Mango
Happy summer stylin!
